D-Day hero, who lost a leg in Normandy, finally goes on honeymoon with his wife – 75 years after their wedding

Ken Foster is a veteran who took part in the D-Day operations in 1944. He met his wife, Vera, on holiday, but they parted when Ken enlisted in a Yorkshire regiment and left to train for D-Day.

During operations, he lost a leg and feared Vera would leave him. Instead they got married, and are preparing for their honeymoon, three quarters of a century after they were wed.
