On International Women’s Day #ChooseToChallenge

Where to start when honouring women for all that they do?

This year, on the 8th March, the theme for International Women’s Day, is #ChooseToChallenge.

It’s a time to celebrate gender equality, and what women have achieved, often under trying circumstances.

At Veterans’ Gateway we have first hand experience of working with, and celebrating amazing women. Take some of the women in our Veterans’ Stories, for instance:

As my son prepared for deployment to Afghanistan, he asked me to be his next of kin… A mother’s Story

I haven’t worked for many years and I had almost given up until I came across  RFS and they put me on the Liquid workforce program and now I am working from home for BAE Systems I feel so lucky… Spousal employment support for families transitioning

Our 24/7 helpline team also includes amazing ex-service women  (and men).  They can  be contacted 24 hours a day on 0808 802 1212.

If you would rather avoid speaking to someone directly you can use our online chat service or explore our range of Family and communities guides to find related advice.
