Census 2021: Making it count for veterans

Shout out to all veterans. Don’t miss the opportunity to take part in the 2021 Census. For the first time you will be able to identify as ex-service.

MP Johnny Mercer explains why you should stand up and be counted:

You may think that you’ve not heard much about the Census. That’s because it occurs every 10 years in England and Wales.

Most importantly, the data it gathers is vital in supporting public services across healthcare, schools, transport and more.

This year the Census is #digitalfirst. That means you can complete it online, as soon as you get your code. If you have any questions you can visit the specialist  online hub which helps with everything from getting your code to reading the Census in other languages.

If you prefer a paper census that option is still available.

You can also inspire your children to take part in future censuses. Check out free educational resources provided by the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

You may even win £1000 of equipment for your school.

Thanks also to veteran Kerryane Wilde and her husband, who are being recognised by the Census team for their long service:
