Explore 100 years of The Poppy Factory at new visitor centre

Explore the home of Remembrance in Richmond-upon-Thames at the Poppy Factory’s new visitor centre. And join experts in a private and personalised visit.

Established in the aftermath of the First World War, The Poppy Factory quickly developed into a community of wounded and injured veterans and their families.

These workers made Remembrance poppies and wreaths by hand for generations, a tradition continued by the factory’s production team today.

Groups can see first-hand this work, and have a go at making their own poppy. And visitors can book ahead to enjoy a delicious Factory Tea Break served by the factory’s veteran baristas, with fresh cakes made by in-house bakers 7Marvels.

Online booking is open now for group visits throughout 2022.

In May and June, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations will see The Poppy Factory highlighting its special relationship with the Royal Family.

Visitor feedback:

Thank you for arranging our tour so efficiently yesterday.  We all, without exception, enjoyed it enormously and I have had several thank you letters from our group.  Please also thank Geoff for his engaging talk – we all learned a lot and were surprised how little we knew, very interesting.
