The JobOppO employment community expands its wide-ranging support

As well as providing wide-ranging employment support, the JobOppO team collaborates with The Sulha Alliance to improve outcomes for Afghan interpreters.

This begins with The Sulha Alliance team referring eligible former Afghan nationals (AfghanOppos) on to the employment service.

AfghanOppOs then complete a simple on-boarding process. By discussing their previous experience and hopes for the future,   potential employers and jobs can be identified.

Similarly to other applicants, AfghanOppOs are given access to the organisation’s exclusive jobs board and other employability support tools.

There are also networking opportunities, including virtual workshops, and the chance to collaborate with an established veterans’ community and network. As well as introductions to supportive employers.

These employment partners discuss training/employment opportunities to help Afghan nationals settle in to their new environment.

With regard to veterans seeking support, the team at JobOppO emphasise that veterans are “changing gear’ as they leave the Armed Forces.

The JobOppO service is also free for anyone who has worn a military uniform. Above all, this help is long term.

If you’re new to the service, the easiest way to access this peer to peer community is via the JobOppO House app.
