Lifeworks (LW) is an employability skills course that aims to help you find and get the right job for you.

Run by RBLI, the course supports you with planning to achieve your career goals. And includes a professional vocational assessment which will identify your strengths and types of work you may be suited to.

Course details

The course lasts for 4 days, aiming to daily build on the skills covered.

– Day 1 – Change: Unhelpful thinking and how to deal with it; Your transferable skills; Creating your own plans.

– Day 2 – How recruitment works: Why you have to have a CV a certain way including what you don’t put in; Creating that CV and tailoring it.

– Day 3 – Covering letters: Completing applications; Starting to formulate your thinking to tell people about yourself; Tricky interview questions.

– Day 4 – Interview technique and types of interview: Preparing yourself and your thinking; Some practice at interview skills; Where to get further support.

Many topics covered refer to general ‘Life Skills’ and the course will enable you to develop these to use generally.
